Saudi Arabia declared Best-Governed Muslim State
Islamabad—Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been declared as the Best-Governed Muslim State of
2011 and Award in this regard will be conferred on Khadim Al-Haramain Al-Sharifain, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud in the coming
weeks.
The prestigious Award was instituted by the daily Pakistan Observer, which appears from five main cities of Pakistan simultaneously, in
2005 and it has been conferred on four Heads of State since then.
The Award has been conferred as per statement of the newspaper on account of
King’s deep commitment to converting darkness into light, poverty into prosperity and rigidity into flexibility to change the face of Saudi
Arabia and, more important than that, for his untiring efforts to promote world peace.
“Three international inter-faith conferences
convened by the King in Makkah, Madrid and New York contributed a lot in promoting peace”, a press release of the Award Committee
added.
The earlier Awards were received by four Heads of State at State ceremonies in their respective capitals and, now, the Editor-in-Chief,
Pakistan Observer; Mr. Zahid Malik along with two former Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, who are associated with the high-profile Award Committee, will
visit the Kingdom to confer the Award on the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The Award-giving ceremony will be widely covered by the world
media.
