We are prepared to meet any challenge: Indian Army
Srinagar: The General Officer in Command (GOC) of 15 Corps Lt General Gurmeet Singh Saturday said that Indian army is prepared to meet any security challenge in Kashmir ahead of the parliamentary elections.
Speaking on the sidelines of passing out parade at Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Regimental Centre, Singh said that the security situation in the state is under control. “Even at the Line of Control (LoC), situation is absolutely under control” he said.
On infiltration, the Army General said that army has effective counter-infiltration mechanism in place. He said army was fully prepared to meet any internal or external challenge at the LoC.
“Our network is effective and has excellent coordination. The security situation both at LoC and internally is under control,” he added.
The GoC complimented the 311 Kashmiri youth who completed the training and took part in the passing-out parade.
“I am proud of these boys and their parents who motivated them to join this profession,” he added. (GNS)
