US threatens to leave Afghanistan as it is
ISLAMABAD – The United States has threatened Afghan President Hamid Karzai to leave Afghanistan by 2014 as it is if he fails to sign the Washington proposed text of joint security pact. This has been disclosed in Jim Lobe’s Asia/Pacific affairs commentary, stringing together the hot issues from recently signed interim Iran nukes accord among P5+1 (Britain, France, Russia, USA, China plus Germany) to the simmering hostilities over China sea islands. US has already sent two B-52 bombers to the contested sea zone.
US National Security Advisor Ms Susan Rice in her recent visit to Kabul conveyed Washington’s warning to Hamid Karzai that US would leave Afghanistan \”to its fate after 2014 unless he (Karzai) signs the bilateral secuity agreement\” concluded freshly.
The strategic significance of this accord for US seems supreme as State Serretary John Kerry a few days ago had himself announced in Washington that Loya Jirga had approved the text. The proposed accord authorizes keeping 10,000 US troops in Afghanistan after 2014 to \”train and advise the Afghan army and to deal with Al-Qaeda and its affiliates\”.
