Turabi re-elected as Amir JI AJK for three years
ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Rasheed Turabi has been re-elected as Amir of the JI AJK for a period of another three years.
Nazim-e-Intikhab Muhammad Anwar Abbasi said that members of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir including Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmiri migrants living in Pakistan and female members took part in the elections.
Meanwhile Dr Khalid and Noorul Bari were also included in the panel contesting the elections of the Amri JI AJK.
Members of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir elected Abdul Rasheed Turabi with thumping majority as Amir of the JI for the period of next three years.
It is worth mentioning here that Abdul Rasheed Turabi served as the Amir JI AJK for 16 years.
Before this Sardar Ijaz Afzal was elected as Amir Jamaat-e-Islami in 2002 and served on the post for the period of six years. The members of Jamaat-e-Islami re-elected Abdul Rasheed Turabi as their Amir in 2008 after break of six years.
Abdul Rasheed Turabi is working as Amir Jamaat-e-Islami for the last three years; meanwhile the members of Jamaat-e-Islami re-elected Abdul Rasheed Turabi as their Amir for a period of further three years here on Friday.
