Srinagar: The student protests are refusing to die down in Valley and today hundreds of students in Budgam Township of central Kashmir took to streets and staged massive pro-Azadi protests also clashed with government forces.
According to GNS correspondent, Budgam students from Boys HSS boycotted their classwork and staged pro-Azadi, pro-Islam and anti-India protests. They took out a procession from their school and marched on the main road. Due to massive protests, the traffic movement came to a halt while students staged massive protests.
Contingents of police arrived on the spot and urged students to disperse, but students continued their protest and shouted slogans against the police. In a bid to disperse the protesting students, police started firing teargas shells. The students responded by pelting stones after which clashes ensued.

In view of today’s violent protests, the District Administration Budgam has decided to keep classwork suspend at BHSS Budgam. Reports said intense clashes broke between students and police in Pulwama today against the arrests of one dozen students. The reports said that police fired teargas shells but the clashes spread in entire Pulwama Town, prompting shopkeepers to close down their commercial units. (GNS)
