Srinagar: A family from Soura area of Srinagar city Thursday demanded action against India’s Para-military Central Reserve Police Force personnel for allegedly thrashing their physically challenged son to the extent that the victim even after the treatment is unable to move or eat anything.
Ghulam Muhammad Kandoo, a resident of Ganaie Mohalla Soura along with medical history of his physically challenged son Mushtaq Ahmed appeared in Press Enclave Srinagar. He alleged that on October 22 last year, when Kashmir was on boil, CRPF personnel thrashed his son mercilessly. “From past four months we have been shifting our deaf and dumb son from one hospital to another while a few day’s back, he was discharged from Bones and Joints Hospital Srinagar where doctors advised us to serve him at home. My son is unable to move and eat properly. He is unable to come out from the shock,” Ghulam Muhammad told news agency CNS.
“We seek justice from the present government. We appeal the government to probe the matter and initiate action against the CRPF men responsible for the present condition of my son,” he said.
When contacted, a police official said that they know nothing about the case. “The family never approached us. Still we will investigate the matter,” he said. (CNS)
