Shutdown observed in north Kashmir against the mysterious killings
Baramulla: Complete strike was observed in north Kashmir following the call given by Hurriyat conference against the mysterious killing of father, son of Sopore on Friday.
All shops and other business centers, petrol pumps etc were shut down while as public transport was completely off the roads in Baramulla, Sopore, Bandipora, Kupwara, Patten, Handwara, Palhalen, Kunzar and other areas,reports said.
Sources said that youth in Sopore area took to the streets and held protest demonstration in Main Chowk Sopore and shouted anti India slogans and also raised pro freedom slogans.However, the forces deployed in the area to prevent any untoward accident,the demos were continue till last reports came in. No report of any serious injury was reported so far. Adding that Jehadi songs were also played on loud speakers in Sopore town all the day.
The complete shutdown was also observed in Kupwara, Handwara, Rafiabad, Baramulla, Patten,Kunzar,Tangmarg, Magam etc. but no untoward incident was reported.
Thousands of people including relatives of slain Fayaz Ahmad Bhat (a Hizb militant whose dead body was found on Saturday morning ) reached his home and paid rich tribute to him here in
Wailo Pattan, reliable sources said.
Meanwhile, thousands of people of Sopore and adjacent areas including relatives visited home of Bashir Ahmad Bhat in Sopore and paid rich tribute to Bashir Ahmad Bhat and his young child Burhan 3 years old, who were fired upon and killed by unknown gunmen Friday evening at their residence in Sagipora village of Sopore.
