Kashmir
Watch, Jan 22

By Dr. Abdul Ruff Colachal

The recent poll in Jammu Kashmir, as it was widely expected, has not resolved the freedom issue and India continues to maintain a criminal silence over the issue while pursing its hidden agenda in the region. Obviously, not only the entire world, but even India now has come to realize the fact that there could be no peace between India and Pakistan unless the issue of Kashmir is resolved by taking into account the aspirations of Kashmiri people and an independent Jammu Kashmir is in its own interest in the region.

India, upset over the outcome of Mumbai Terrorism to advance its global ambitions is still harping on the issue hoping that if it keeps blaming the Pakistan’s hands one day its self-made terror stories would be accepted by UNSC as a fact and India would be taken into its “folds”. When India aims at high level terror goals, Kashmiris have to unite and streamline their freedom strategies

It is atrocious to note that the Omar regime pretends unaware of Indian moves to make the Obama regime  in USA not to "interfere" in Indian affairs in Jammu Kashmir and leave Kashmir to India for intermittent genocides there.

It is obvious that generally independence is won by the fighters and not granted by the occupying colonial powers as a merciful gift. Certainly, India cannot show any mercy towards Muslims either in India or in Pakistan or any where in the world, though the present Bangladesh regime trying to reinherit a pro-Hindu and pro-Hindu approach to resolve its outstanding disputes with India, although it knows the enormous difficulties in outsmarting an arrogant and tricky India.

Kashmiris, therefore, should not imagine that with a weak Muslim-Hindu regime in Sri Nagar (It wont be surprising if the regime changes Sri Nagar into Hindu Nagar to appease India for cash bundles from New Delhi?) blessed by Vohra in Kashmir and Manmohan and his coterie from New Delhi, they would be allowed by India to be free and independent nation once again.. Struggle should go on without depending too much of the pro-India regime and divided freedom movement for becoming a sovereign nation. World powers and influential agencies must urge the Indian leadership and Media to pay heed to the genuine concern of international community by seeking durable solution to the long standing Kashmir issue. In this context, the stance taken by British Foreign Secretary David Milliband who underlined the need of peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue is most welcome.

An influential UK based Kashmiri group, the Tehreek-e-Kashmir, has decided to launch an effective campaign to counter Indian propaganda against Pakistan and Kashmir freedom movement. It was decided that UK government will be lobbying through letter writing to the Parliamentarian, Ministry of Foreign and Common Wealth Office and Prime Minister besides giving talks around the country and informing the media about the war rhetoric by India in the wake of Mumbai terrorist attack. It is need of hours to that international community particularly the British government and the people should be informed about the Indian nefarious motives by involving the concerned Kashmiri and Pakistan community across the United Kingdom. Executive Council said Indian government and the media is irresponsibly creating a dangerous environment by issuing war threats against Pakistan. Terming the war hysteria being created by India as part of campaign to gain political mileage and divert attention from Kashmir freedom movement, the situation could go out of control leading to a disastrous war between region’s two nuclear powers. TeK held responsible the present and past government in Pakistan who encouraged India by showing unnecessary flexibility to New Delhi and deviating from country’s principled stand on Kashmir issue. India’s present attitude towards Pakistan had vindicated the stance taken by Syed Ali Geelani and Tehreek-e-Kashmir that India is not sincere in talks with Pakistan and its CMBs were aimed at to deceive world community.

The bold initiative being taken by the Kashmiri Diaspora in UK deserves appreciation but their activities should make India move forward toward Kashmir resolution at the earliest. Similar steps should be adopted and weekly or monthly demonstrations in front of Indian embassies &‘High commissions in every country would go a long way in pressing the Indian government for a quick resolution. All important powers, including USA and Russia should apply enough pressure on democratic New Delhi to work towards speedy resolution.

Leader Geelani should pursue a unified Freedom camp by involving more of youth into the fold and reactivate the movement in full swing with definite goals, even if there are hints form India for a possible resolution as the movement would make them move faster. So far as there is no word from India or its Kashmir agents about Indian intentions in Kashmir or the deadline for the terror forces to vacate Kashmir none can for sure state Indian has developed a soft corner for Kashmiris or freedom fighter’s resolve for peaceful means. A bureaucrat-turned-premier of India cannot be trusted for any sympathy for struggling Kashmiris. A movement divided and a momentum lost would be a powerful tool in the hands of the arrogant state terrorists of India.
