September 20: Indian Ministry of External Affairs has redirected the disputed domain Kashmir.com to its official website at one of the url’s related to the Kashmir issue..
Kashmir.com had been hacked by Indian Army several years ago from a UK based Kashmir born engineer.
Now India has found better place to post the message at the disputed domain Kashmir.com and tell the world that ‘Kashmir is no more disputed and is still an integral part of India’.
In September 2007 Indian Army put the domain www.kashmir.com for sale. When the UK based Kashmiri engineer Mr Khurshid Nahami aborted the attempt of Indian Army to sell the website after challenging the ownership of the domain. Later Indian Army gave up the idea to sell the domain and removed it from the auction site sedo.com.
The domain was then redirected to army’s website www.armyinkashmir.nic.in, thus confirming its ownership.
Now India’s Ministry of External Affairs has redirected the Kashmir.com to one of the Kashmir related urls at its official website and has posted its policy statement on Kashmir issue on the disputed domain.
India is facing biggest ever challenge at diplomatic front due to the recent peaceful pro freedom protests in Kashmir that began in June 2008.
The connectivity of some recent developments in Kashmir show how India is trying to maintain the tight hold over Kashmir. Fresh deployment of troops, consignment of fresh weaponary including batons and teargas shells, Israeli Army Chief’s visit and deployment of nuclear-capable Sukhoi-30 fighter jets indicate mere frustration of India. This frustration will surely produce an equal reaction from Kashmiris’ who have decided this time now or never!
One cannot ignore the recent Delhi blast as an Indian secret agencies ‘Save Kashmir’ operation plot. India is facing a tremendous pressure at diplomatic front and is helpless to defend itself at the time when the ongoing mass protests have exposed the tall claims of India on Kashmir.
Delhi blasts have given a sigh of relief to India. At least it can say now ‘Terror to Top during Manmohan’s visit to New York’.
[KW Note: Jammu and Kashmir is the U.N. recognized disputed state under the illegal occupation of India since 1947.
Since 1988, the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir has been hit by confrontation between Kashmiri Freedom Fighters and the Indian Military, which has resulted in more than One hundred thousand of deaths. Unofficial sources put the number of Indian troops deployed in the state to seven hundred thousand.
According to Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) an estimated 8 to 10 thousand persons have become victims of Enforced or Involuntary Disappearance (EID).]
