:. British Kashmiri kids hold protest






MANCHESTER, September 21:  The British Kashmiri children have held a rally to peacefully protest the violation of human rights and atrocities the being carried out against innocent people of Indian occupied Kashmir.

The rally organized by British Friends of Kashmir, a British Kashmiri advocacy group was participated by children along with their parents and guardians outside the venue of Labour Party Annual Conference in Manchester.

Led by Lord Nazir Ahmed, Chairman British Friends of Kashmir, Mohammad Ghalib President Tehreek-e-Kashmir, Councilor Afzal Kiani and other leaders of different Kashmiri groups, the participants chanted vociferous anti India slogans.

Childern wearing yellow T-shirts inscribed with different pro freedom slogans, the children marched through the streets demanding withdrawal of occupation forces from Kashmir and immediate halt of the inhuman atrocities being unleashed against un-combatant population particularly women and children.



Speaking on the occasion, Lord Nazir Ahmed said, the rally organized under the title of ‘Kids for Peace’ on occasion of Labour Party Conference was meant to remind ruling Labour Party about its promises made with the Kashmiris. The British Government, he said morally bound to play its role for peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue to ensure dignity and sanctity of human lives in Kashmir.

He pointed that during last 20 years, more than 100,000 innocent Kashmiri men, women and Children have been killed and thousands other have been left crippled for life in Kashmir valley. The international community particularly the United Kingdom should take notice of these grave human rights violations.

He said resolution of Kashmir issue under the international norms is one of the pre-requisite for decade old military tension between India and Pakistan and return of peace in the region.

Councilor Afzal Kiani said Labour Party has always raised voice against the human rights violation around the world and same should be demonstrated in case of Kashmir in continuation of its glowing traditions. He said Kashmiris were demanding their right to self determination under UN Security Council resolutions and United Kingdom being one of the five members of Security Council should support to this just and legitimate demand.

President Tehreek-e-Kashmir, Mohammad Ghalib said that Labour Party has clear Kashmir Policy on Kashmir issue and stressed the need for translating this policy into meaningful action. He criticized Indian bid to become permanent member of UNSC and said the world community should not support India in this regard unless it implement UN resolution on Kashmir.

He pointed out that Indian leadership is using draconian laws in occupied Kashmir and armed forces deployed there have been given license to kill and carrying out state terrorism against innocent people.
