Salahudin appeals people to observe Jan 26 as ‘Black Day’a
Srinagar: Urging upon people to observe January 26 as the ‘Black Day’ United Jihad Council (UJC) chairman Syed Sallahudin Friday said that India has no right to celebrate its Republic Day in Kashmir as it is involved in the violation of grave human rights in Valley.
In a statement issued to CNS, Syed Salhaudin while addressing the UJC meeting said that at the beginning of resistance movement, 120 peaceful protesters were killed and 300 were handicapped in one week from January 20 to 27, 1991 in Gowkadal, Handwara and Kupwara. “No one till date has been punished or charged for these heinous offences,” he said adding that since 1947 India has been violating the rights of people of Kashmir and have killed thousands of innocent people in Kashmir.
Asking people of Kashmir to stay from electoral process, Salahudin said that India is always using election card to mislead international community.
“India has been and is using various tactics to suppress the voices of people of Kashmir and have committed various crimes against the people including thousands of unidentified graves and jailing of innocent minors. It puts a question mark on the Indian celebrations of republic day,” he added.
He appealed the people to observe the complete shut down and make the call successful to send the message to international community that people are against the military occupation of India. (CNS)
