New GST is to weaken JK economy, we are with traders, Observe complete shutdown in Southern Kashmir to remember martyrs: Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir
Islamabad, Kashmir: Chairman of Ummat e Islami Jammu Kashmir and Mirwaiz of South Kashmir Qazi Ahmed Yasir on Wednesday said that the NIA investigations against pro-freedom leadership is only to create trust deficit between leaders and people but Kashmiris are fully aware about such tactics of India. He also called new GST as a move to weaken Kashmir’s economy.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir was addressing a press conference at Qazi Manzil to pay rich tributes to his father and founder of UeI Shaheed Mirwaiz Qazi Nissar Ahmad, who was martyred on 19 June 1994.
While calling for complete shutdown on 19th June, he also added that the whole week will be to remember Qazi Nissar, other martyrs and highlight the issues concerning the ongoing freedom movement.
“On 16 June, eminent pro freedom leaders across the party lines will address people at Jamia Masjid Islamabad that will follow with a rally. Rallies will also be held across Southern Kashmir. On 19th there will be complete shutdown in Southern Kashmir and on 20th a seminar will be held in Srinagar, which will be a gathering of pro-freedom leadership.”
Calling NIA investigations as another form of war against Kashmiris, Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that it is to create trust deficit among Kashmiris. “We will not let India be successful in creating a wedge between leadership and Kashmiris,” he said. “People have shown their full support to profreedom leadership and it has terrified India, who continue to kill Kashmiris. Everyday civilians are being tortured and killed and people are put in jail.”
Reacting against a statement of BJP leader that Yatris shouldn’t buy anything in Kashmir, Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that we welcome it if yatra is no extension of hindutva agenda.
“There is policy of strengthening Hindutva even in Kashmir and these Yatras are being used for political and military purposes. We will not allow these yatras be used as excuse to bring more military forces and force Kashmiris live under jackboots,” he said.
Speaking on the issue of GST in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that we are with traders’ body on this issue. “It is a conspiracy to weaken Kashmir’s economy. Youth are risking their lives to save militants should be an eye opener for what people want today. This new issue is only due to the lack of political dispensation. The outflow of money will increase.”
