YOUTH KILLED IN BARAMULLA MAGISTERIAL ENQUIRY ORDERED :DM
Baramullah, Mar. 5 (KNS): Massive protest erupted in Baramullah District today when a
person was allegedly target fired. According to the reports situation becomes tense today when the 46 Battalion of RR appeared in old town Baramullah
in the
afternoon and started breaking window panes of houses and vehicles. Eye witness said, “Army enter many houses and broke everything
that came in their way. Army allegedly thrashed every pedestrian whether old or young.After this some angry boys took to stone pelting at the army
standing on the Chati Padsyaye Bridge Baramullah.Eye witness told KNS Army suddenly opened the fire and on sport shot dead Tahir Rasool Sofi S /o
Ghulam Rosool Sofi R /o Ganie Hamam Baramullah”.
In this firing 15 year old Abas and two other persons were also injured said eye
witness.
Tahir who was standing near a shop in kakerhama was directly fired in his head said eye witness to KNS.
The protestors also
hurled stones at the Deputy Commissioner’s office smashing its window panes, the sources said.
Tahir’s body was then taken nearby
Hospital where doctors declare him brought dead. After this Tahir’s dead body was taken to the Dc office by the angry people from where dead
body was taken to the old town.
According to family members Tahir had done his PG in MSW at dehradoon and had also completed his Bed degree. He
was presently running a medical shop.
Meanwhile DC Baramullah agreeing with the report said, “Army has done excesses after which stone
pelting and clashes between Army and angry people took place. However to ascertain the whole incident a Magisterial probe will be held DC Baramullah
told KNS.
When contacted army spokesman said, “we have not received details yet”.
