Nazir Gilani to raise Balochistan issue in Geneva
London: JKCHR Secretary General Dr. Syed Nazir Gilani left for Geneva to attend the 19th
Session of UN Human Rights Council. The Secretary General of the United Nations has received two written statements from JKCHR and these have been
circulated at the 19th Session of UN Human Rights Council as UN Documents A/HRC/19/NGO/17 and A/HRC/19/NGO/18.
These documents have been
submitted under agenda items 3 and 4 and cover the Rights of the “four generations of displaced Kashmiris” and Kashmir as a “Human
Rights situation that requires Council’s attention”.
JKCHR Secretary General has been requested by the civil society in Pakistan to
raise the issue of threats to media and extra judicial killings of Baloch political workers by intelligence agencies and the question of missing
persons.
