Senior Kashmiri poet scuffled by police
Srinagar: Senior Kashmiri poet Zareef Ahmad Zareef was Saturday scuffled by police when he along with
other civil society members held a protest against the increasing dog menace in city. Zareef along with other activists were in press enclave
protesting against the dog menace. Authorities tried to block them when the protesters tried to move towards Ghanta Ghar, Lal Chowk. According to
police, the area has section 144 in force, which bars gathering of four people at a place.
As the Police tried to disperse the protesters,
Zareef was manhandled by the officials, said an activist who was part of the demonstration. Police refutes the scuffle and said they just
stopped the demonstrators to move towards city square without any force.
