LET CONDEMNS SILENCE OF HR ORGANIZATIONS OVER EDS IN KASHMIR
Srinagar: Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) operational chief Mehmood Shah Tuesday condemned the international Human Rights organizations whom he said have not done anything over the burning issue of Enforced Disappearances (EDs) in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a tele-statement LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi quoting Shah’s statement said, “Siraj-ud-Din Farooqi brother-in-law of pro-freedom leader Mushtaq Ahmad Zarger was subjected to Enforced Disappearance by forces in 1992 in Jamia Masjid area. He was arrested by the forces and then subjected to ED. Till this day his whereabouts are not known.”
“Similarly, thousands of Kashmiris have been subjected to ED by Indian forces. But international HR organizations are silent over it and are not doing anything on this issue. We condemn and express regret over this silence,” he added.
