KSC Director welcomes Norwegian govt offer of mediation on Kashmir issue


OSLO: Executive Director of Kashmiri Scandinavian Council Oslo, Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan has thanked the Norwegian government for its offer to play role of mediator in resolution of the long standing Kashmir dispute.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Sardar Ali Shahnawaz  Khan said that Norway is the only among the global countries which has offered mediation between the two arch rivals , Pakistan and India on Kashmir issue which is highly laudable and termed the offer as an outcome of the struggle and untiring lobbying of Kashmiri Scandinavian Council.

In contrary to the Norwegian government’s daring stance on the resolution of issue, the UN, European Union and United States believe resolution of disputes through bilateral dialogues, he maintained.

He said that like Norway other countries of the world should also come forward to play its role in resolution of the Kashmir dispute and accepting right of self-determination right to the Kashmiri people in accordance with the pending resolution of United Nations.

Sardar Ali Shahnawaz urged the Kashmiri people living across the globe to raise voice against the violation of basic human rights by Indian force in Occupied Kashmir and abreast the international community about the worst human rights violation in IOK.

The Executive Director assured that Kashmiri Scandinavian Council will continue to support the struggle of Kashmiris at international fora.

It is worth to mention here that Norwegian Foreign Minister during a joint press conference accompanying Advisor to Pakistan PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Oslo the other day had offered to play role as a mediator for resolution of Kashmir dispute.
