Kashmir Press condemns attacks on photojournalists

Srinagar: Kashmir Press Photographers Association (KPAA) Tuesdaycondemned the attack on a photojournalist, Danish Ismail’s residence at Batamaloo in Srinagar and condemned the action of a policeman who used abuse language against Kashmir Monitor photojournalist, Umar Ganaie and threw a big rock at him while he was performing his professional duties at Batamaloo, Srinagar, Kashmir.

KPPA condemned the action of Police and Indian central reserve police force (CRPF), for ransacking the house of the photojournalist by smashing window panes.

KPPA said Danish was not at his home when Police and CRPF men pelted stones at his house, causing panic among the inmates and resulting in his wife getting fainted.

KPPA also condemned the action of a policeman who used abuse language against Kashmir Monitor photojournalist, Umar Ganaie and threw a big rock at him while he was performing his professional duties at Batamaloo.

KPPA warned Police not to harass photojournalists while they are dispatching their professional duties.
