*People help OGWs mistook as braid choppers escape in Bemina: Police*
Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that two persons who were earlier caught at Bemina in Srinagar on accusation of being broad choppers were over ground workers (OGWs) and people facilitated their escape.
A senior police officer told news agency GNS that the two persons who were nabbed by people at Nundresh Colony Bemina today afternoon after accusing them of being braid choppers were in reality OGWs. “People after coming to know that they are OGWs facilitated their escape even as police arrived at the spot. Some persons were claiming to have spotted arms and ammunition in their possession,” he said.
Pertinently, massive clashes erupted at Bemina after police arrived at the spot. The identity of two persons who police said were OGWs has not been ascertained yet but police said that they have started searches.(GNS)

Kashmir: Two armed braid choppers caught by people
Srinagar: Situation deteriorated in Bemina area of Srinagar today after two braid chopping suspects were nabbed by people, eyewitnesses and police told news agency GNS.
The witnesses told GNS that two persons whom people accused of being braid choppers were nabbed at Nundresh Colony Bemina today afternoon.
As per locals, they found arms and ammunition in their possession and accused them of being men from security agencies (of India). Witnesses said that people staged protests in favour of Islam and Azadi and also in favour of militants.
Meanwhile, police have arrived at the spot and are ascertaining facts while one of the suspects have been arrested, eyewitnesses said. A police official said that they have initiated the probe into the matter and searches for another suspect have been started.
The official said that they are also probing ammunition claim of people.(GNS)
