Kashmir shutdown on 17, Sopore march on 19
Srinagar: Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani has expressed deep shock over the killing of a civilian at Mandigi Sopore. While terming the innocent killing one after other as very serious issue, Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Geelani in consultation with Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sahab, JKLF and the party of Shabir Ahmad Shah Sahab have called for statewide shutdown on 17 June Wednesday and a joint protest march of all the pro-freedom people in Sopore on 19 June Friday.
He said that if this process of mysterious killings of the innocent people is not stopped forthwith, the Hurriyat Conference along with the other pro-freedom leadership will come on the roads and start a joint protest program and will strongly resist the killing process of our people. He said that the protection of the human lives is the priority and the business, trade, education and other activities are of secondary importance in its comparison. Everything and every act can be sacrificed for the protection of the human life.
While reckoning the Mufti Sayed as the equal partner with the Indian secret agencies in the innocent killings, Geelani Sahab said that if any moral courage is still left with the ministers and officials of this part, then they should distance themselves from this saffron terrorism by immediately resigning from their respective offices.
While terming the recent killings of the common people in Sopore as the a dangerous shape of genocides of the Kashmiri nation which have been started on the directions and under the patronage of the Indian home and defense ministry, the Hurriyat Chairman said that we had earlier got some information from the reliable sources about this plot and then the statement of the Indian defense minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar further strengthened this info. He said that at the beginning we thought that this plan has been formulated by bypassing the Mufti Mohammad Sayed but the ambiguous attitude of the Mufti Sayed towards this killing process raised many questions and doubts about him and it looks that the communal government of India has got his full support in this regard.
Geelani Sahab said that all the killings in the Sopore areas are of similar pattern and all these incidents happened in the broad day light and in the crowded areas while as the presence of the police personals was also reported there. He said that this is only possible when the police have got directions not to interfere in this issue.
Geelani Sahab said that in the beginning when these killing were reported, some top police officials confidently claimed that they will arrest the killers in one or two days but later on they would have got to know the fact that this matter is beyond their reach and it has different connections. He said that the hands which are behind the killing of the unarmed and innocent civilians are directly or indirectly connected with the secret agencies and they are being used as tools. The pro-freedom leader also expressed his apprehensions that the government may arrest someone in coming days for face saving purpose and will then claim that he is responsible for these killings but it would only be a drama and an attempt to mislead the general masses.
Hurriyat Chairman said that after having direct consultation with the other pro-freedom organizations, we have decided to launch a joint agitation against the killing of civilians and will raise every possible step for the protections of our people. At first stage a complete statewide shutdown will be observed on 17 June Wednesday and a joint protest march will be held at Sopore on 19 June Friday in which the conscious people of Sopore will also participate. If the process will not stop, we will appeal all the people in the state to come out on roads. While appealing for making the proposed shutdown call and protest march a success, Geelani Sahab said that it is the right time to show the courage and determination and we should not lose the hope in any way. May Almighty Allah show us the easy way-out from this though situation like He did in 90s.
