Kashmir delegation to visit OIC Headquarters in Jeddah
London: A Kashmiri delegation will leave for a visit to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for one week visit. The Kashmiri delegation, in its first ever visit to OIC Headquarters, is led by Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, Chairmain APHC (M) accompanied by Barrister Majid Tramboo, Prof Nazir Shawl and Shameema Shawl.
The delegation is expected to held meeting with Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the OIC and Assistant Secretary General and OIC’s special representative on Kashmir Abdullah A Alim.
Meanwhile Executive Director of Scandinavian Council Norway Sardar Ali Shahnawaz Khan met Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Omar Farooq in Geneva on the sidelines of the 19th Human Rights Convention organized by United Nations.

The meeting which lasted for an hour discussed the latest situation of Kashmir. Mirwaiz admitted that the sacrifices of Kashmiri people have given the new life to the freedom struggle and at the same time he appreciated the efforts of Kashmiri organisations for highlighting the issue in west.
He appreciated the Norwegian parliament for holding the debate on Kashmir held at the Norwegian parliament in 2010 that took the serious notice of human rights violations taking place in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He also admitted that Norway is the only country in the world which is favouring the implementation of UN security council resolutions on Kashmir which is the result of the lobbying made by Kashmir Scandinavian Council.
As a member of interfaith group in Norway Ali Shahnawaz also discussed the interfaith issues of Muslims in Europe and controversy of conversions in Kashmir.
Mirwaiz has met officials of OIC Contact Group on Kashmir in Geneva. Mirwaiz also led the delegation of the Kashmiri leadership and hold meetings with a number of the representatives of the United Nations Human Rights Mechanisms on Friday the 16th of March at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations in Geneva.
Earlier last week he inaugurated the Photo-Exhibition in London.
