JKPP stays out of R’kot electoral ring

ISLAMABAD: The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party headed by Sardar Khalid Ibrahim has decided to boycott the Rawalakot Assembly seat vacated by the sitting President AJK Sardar M Yaqub Khan following his entry in the presidency.

As per election commission schedule polling in the constituency will take place on October 23, 2011.

This constituency is native to the JKPP chief Sardar Khalid Ibrahim.

Senior leader Dr Kaleem Khan says his party foresees what he fears a ‘massive rigging in polls by the government’. A joint electoral platform of the PPP-AJK plus MC will fight against PML/N, JI candidates. Locals say PML/N and JI can join heads, hearts and hands mustering additional support of JKPP to take on PPP-MC duo in the electoral wrestling on October 23, 2011.
