Japan to further fortify ties with SAARC
ISLAMABAD – In his fresh meeting with SAARC Secretary General Mr Ahmed Saleem in Kathmandu, the Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Mr. Kunio Takahashi,told the latter that his government \”attached great importance to SAARC and was willing to strengthen ties between SAARC and japan in the development of South Asia as a region\”, says a SAARC
report. Japan became an observer to SAARC in April 2007.
The Ambassador felicitated the Secretary-General on his appointment, stressing that the Government of Japan attached great importance to SAARC and was willing to strengthen ties between SAARC and Japan in the development of South Asia as a region.
Reciprocating Ambassador’s sentiments, the Secretary-General of SAARC expressed the desire of Member States to work constructively with Japan in the days ahead.
Be it recalled that for some decades now, Japan weighs her aid to other nations as the strategic asset of her influential economy-based diplomacy of growing global relations.
