Where is Govt: Politically, Doda district ‘NO MAN’s’ land

• People in upper reaches face shortage of medicines, Kerocine oil, LPG Gas and ration
• Water supply, road connectivity and electricity not visible

Ajmer Alam Wani

JAMMU: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, always dominated by politicians and the men in bureaucracy from Kashmir Valley , had not only snatched one after the other thing from the people of erstwhile Doda district , but also forgotten this large wide spread area of the state and the people living therein, even at the time of natural climates. Earlier it was snatching Chief Ministership from Ghulam Nabi Azad then Ministry from GM Saroori and now no heed to people’s problems.
Due to the heavy snowfall in the upper reaches, there is no power supply, water supply, Kerosene oil, LPG Gas and the road connectivity and the people are suffering badly. Reports reaching here from, Chiralla, Rookali, Panshai, Joura, Chinta, Bhalesa, Cherrot, Gundna, Bharat, Cherout, Breswana, and several other areas in upper reaches said that people are facing several problems, and the electricity, power supply and medicines shortage is at top.
It is unfortunate at a time when, all such areas require attention of the Government, only Kashmir valley is being paid attention by one and all in the ministry.
Its not bad that a dozen cabinet ministers are camping in Kashmir including 4 from Congress including Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Peerzada Mohammed Sayed, Raman Bhallah and Sham Lal Sharma, besides PDP and NC directed their party MLA’s to be in respective constituencies. But very unfortunate, that neither Congress, nor NC have felt it important to depute some medical teams or use chopper service to have a look into the plight of forgotten people living in hilly terrains of Doda district.
It is a big question that why no minister was still directed by Govt for Chenab valley as people are facing numerous problems. Even MLAs, MLCs, MPs and Social Activists are camping in Jammu.
People should not forget such moments, and show their power to such representatives at the time of elections and tell them how powerful they are.
