Brussels: EU foreign ministers met in Luxembourg yesterday and announced a historic U-turn in its ties with Burma by lifting all sanctions with the exception of an arms embargo.
The decision was taken without vote and was in response to the wave of reforms launched by Burmese President Thein Sein which included releasing Miss Aung San Suu Kyi, Burmese opposition leader, from house arrest.
