Srinagar: The cross-LoC ‘Karvan-e-Aman’ bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad was suspended on Monday due to inclement weather and landslides on the other side of the border, officials said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Uri Tabrez Ahmad said the service was suspended as the highway was blocked by landslides in Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
“The officials from Muzaffarabad called us up saying that the highway was blocked at several places due to landslides,” said Ahmad.
As a confidence building measure between India and Pakistan, the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service was started in 2005 to facilitate the divided families of J&K to visit each other. (CNS)
