Bandipora: A local court in north Kashmir district of Bandipora has issued a non-bailable warrant against a former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) involved in alleged fake encounter of a person in 2006.
The non-bailable warrant has been issued by Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora against the former SSP Hans Raj Parihar after he failed to appear in the court for remaining absent during hearing of a case FIR No. 52/06 under section 120-B RPC, 364, 302, 201, 344 RPC in Police Station Sumbal.
The court issued non-bailable warrant against Parihar for remaining absent during the hearing in connection with the case under-trial in Sessions court Bandipora since 2006.
Hans Raj Parihar, a police officer accused of picking up a number of civilians, murdering them in staged gunfights and passing them off as militants for money and awards, had earlier this month sought transfer of the three cases registered against him in Srinagar and Bandipora to Jammu.
Parihar has been released on bail by the high court at Jammu in November 2016 after the state government said it has “no objections” if the former SSP assures that he will not leave the state without prior permission of the court. (CNS)
