Islamabad: The book titled ‘Kashmir and Human Rights’ written by renowned lawyer, columnist Barrister Afzal Hussain is published, says a press release.
The book comprises his English and Urdu columns on Kashmir issue. The book highlights the human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir and calls upon the international community to take action against Indian brutality. He has maintained in the book that Kashmir is the unfinished agenda of the partition of subcontinent, thus, Kashmir and Pakistan are inseparable.
The book sheds light on the significance of UN resolutions on Kashmir dispute and suggests that permanent peace in South Asia is only possible provided the Kashmir dispute is resolved as per UN resolution by holding a free and impartial plebiscite.
The writer also held that Azad Kashmir was meant to be the ‘Base Camp’ of freedom movement thus, the AJK Government and the federal government of Pakistan should vigorously work together in highlighting the Kashmir dispute. The book depicts the latest position of human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir. Opinions about teh book by Justice Nasira Iqbal, Dr Suilen Morgan, Irshad Ullah Khan, Shahryar Khan and Prof. Abdul Sami Qureshi are also included in the book.
