Bay of Bengal crossings reach dangerous level: UN
ISLAMABAD – The United Nations has once again warned that the human crossings/traffickings via Bay of Bengal to neighboring Thailand and further to Malaysia have reached an alarming level. The Bengal Bay is considered most dangerous sea route in the world.
In its latest report the UN says that during Jan-March 2015 more than 25,000 humans crossed via fishing/speed boats this Bay. The number is increasing as Rohingyas and Bengalis set out for new job markets in Malaysia and Thailand.
In separate development the world media have already drawn the attention of the world towards highly deteriorating social conditions of the Rohingyas in Myanmar/Burma on account of ethnic enmities of the Monks there.
