Plebiscite only solution to Kashmir dispute: Turabi Indo, Pak grant the opportunity to Kashmirs for exercise their right of
vote
RAWALPINDI, Jan 29: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jummu and Kashmir (JIAJK) Abdur Rasheed Turabi has said that the only solution of the Jammu
and Kashmir dispute was to give the people of the state the opportunity to exercise their right through impartial, free and fair plebiscite, a right
not only conceded by India and Pakistan, but also the world community through UN SC resolutions on Kashmir.
He was addressing to the Central
Committee (Majlas-e-Shoora) of JIAJK; meanwhile highlighting the situation of Indian Occupied Kashmir, he said the Indian forces have increased human
rights violations in Occupied Kashmir day by day.
He said that Kashmiris are being killed with impunity and rape is used as a weapon of war by
Indian forces. He said that Pakistan was a pleader of the Kashmiri people; therefore it is a joint responsibility of all Pakistanis to highlight the
Kashmir issue at all international forums.
He said the plebiscite is the only solution to the Kashmir dispute which is in the line with the
urges of the people of Kashmir and feelings of the people of Pakistan. Any formula other than the stated position of Pakistan aiming at resolving the
Kashmir dispute will create confusion among the ranks and files of the people of Kashmir and will harm the ongoing Kashmir liberation struggle, he
added. Therefore, all such steps and measures should be avoided, he said.
He said that the people of Kashmir will continue to observe
“Black Day” against the illegal Indian occupation and forcibly landed of Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir. The observing of the Black
Day on Indian Independence day is to convey a message to the world that the people of Kashmir were struggling for their right to self-determination.
He has urged India to fulfill its promise and grant the people of Kashmir their right to self-determination.
He said since Kashmir is a
dispute, as accepted by the UN in its resolutions, the human rights violations perpetrated by the Indian soldiers in the disputed territory fall
within the ambit of the international war crimes. The APHC Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani was repeatedly put under house arrest by Indian armed
forces.
He called for National unity at this difficult time, which is facing the nation and ask for diplomatic campaign on international level
to undertake the Indian aggression against Pakistan and human violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
