Defence of Pakistan article of our faith: Sardar Attique
Hameed Shaheen
MUZAFFARABAD: In the backdrop of the November 26, 2011, brutal
attacks by the Nato and Isaf forces on the two Salala check posts of Pakistan in the Mohmand Agency martyring 24 officers and soldiers of Pakistan
Army, on the call of the ex-PM & President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Day of Solidarity with the Armed
Forces of Pakistan was observed on December 10, 2011, across Azad Jammu and Kashmir and by J&K citizens settled in Pakistan and abroad.
Public
rallies, open meetings, march pasts, Pakistan flags and banners hoisting at residences and public places, etc. formed the special features of the
Solidarity with Pakistan Armed Forces Day. The central event at Muzaffarabad was addressed by party chief Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan besides several
others pledging to continue mighty struggle for accession of J&K with Pakistan. The Nato and Isaf attacks on Salala check posts were vehemently
condemned.
Including the key address by the President of the Muslim Conference Sardar Attique Ahmed, party seniors in their speeches
highlighted the significance of the Solidarity Day, expressing resolve to stand by the Armed Forces of Pakistan under all circumstances for the
defence, integrity and solidarity and well being of the country and the nation from Gowadar to Khyber to Kashmir.
Special homage was paid to
the martyrs of November 26, 2011, officers and jawans of Pakistan Army and the far-sighted resolve of the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez
Kayani in defending the territorial and ideological frontiers of Pakistan, the post-attacks vital measures taken by the Government of Pakistan were
specially appreciated as fit, sagacious and timely response to the prevalent situation.
It was made clear that the sacred territorial and
ideological defence of Pakistan is an article of faith with All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, with every Kashmiri as Pakistan’s defence
forms integral part of the public manifesto of Muslim Conference as the oldest party in Jammu and Kashmir (founded in 1932). This platform was owned
by the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in his historic address to it in the last week of July 1944 at Srinagar. There would be no
let up in safeguarding and sacrificing in men and material for sanctity of Quaid-e-Azam’s vision that Kashmir-is-jugular-vein of Pakistan
dictum.
The rallies condemned the continued human rights violations and atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces in held
Kashmir and paid valiant tributes to the people there who are resisting those oppressions.
The All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference under
the leadership of Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan on this important occasion places on record the fact that under the Standstill Agreement of August 12,
1947 (accepted and ratified by Pakistan on August 15, 1947), between Pakistan Government and Maharaja Hari Singh, the defence of Jammu and Kashmir is
the legitimate domain of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, and Muslim Conference has all along been endorsing it as part of greater movement of
J&K’s accession to Pakistan. The solidarity day was also observed in UK, France, Belgium, USA, Middle Eastern countries, Canada, etc. by Muslim
Conference cadres.
