AJK Minister urges farmers to cultivate more crops and boost livestock

MUZAFFARABAD: AJK Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi has said government has allocated sufficient funds in next fiscal year to reform the functioning of agriculture and livestock departments in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
During his visit to MeeraKalsi area of union council Panjkot, he said that government is considering to equip these departments with latest technology and empowering the farmers in rural areas.
He said over 80 percent population of the region lived in rural areas and promotion of agriculture was vital to empower them financially.
AJK Minister Agriculture said that it is our priority to encourage the farmers to cultivate more crops and boost livestock in the state.
Bazil Ali Naqvi said that government has initiated number of project in collaboration with national, international donors, investors for sponsorship/public-private partnership to develop agriculture and livestock sectors on modern lines
He said that through effective utilization of agriculture and livestock resources people can get self-reliance in this field.
AJK Information Minister said that state government has diversified agro-ecological zones having conducive environment for rearing different livestock/poultry breeds.
He urged the employees of the departments to pay heed towards the genuine problems of the public and contribute in the development of the state.
