Kashmir: Girl students hold protest in Tral against sending them to police event

Srinagar: Scores of students of Girls higher Secondary School Tral in south Kashmir on Thursday staged a protest against the school administration for sending them to a sports event organized by police at District Police Lines Awantipora.

According to GNS, the girl students boycotted their classes and assembled at Tral Town. They alleged that instead of Pulwama they were sent to DPL Awantipora for attending sports event which was organized by police. “The school administration cheated us. We were caught by surprise and this is unacceptable,” the girl protesters said and sought action against the school authorities.

The girl students alleged that they have faced ire from various quarters for attending the police event including on social media where their pictures have gone viral. “Everything was done against our wish. We were cheated by the school authorities,” they said. Meanwhile, according to reports, the School principal said that the decision was taken in his absence and he has no hand in it. (GNS)
