Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millitat chairperson Aasiyeh Andrabi was arrested from Kralkhud area of Habba Kadal earlier today. She was accompanied by Fehmeeda Sofi at the time of her arrest Strongly condemning the arrest of Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, Dukhtaran-e-Millitat general secretary Nahida Nasreen Tuesday said that the arrest of their chairperson will not break their resolve to fight for the freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation.
In a statement issued here, Nahida said that Aasiyeh was not keeping well for last three months and that her health was continuously deteriorating for she was forced to stay indoors.
Aasiyeh was arrested from Kralkhud area of Habba Kadal earlier today. She was accompanied by Fehmeeda Sofi at the time of her arrest, the DeM general secretary said. “She has been taken to an unknown location.”
“We appeal the general masses to continue the struggle for freedom till the occupier calls it a quit. We should not feel tired and the arrests of our leaders should not let us down at any cost. This is the part of our struggle against Indian occupation,” she said
“There are ups and downs in every movement and we should overcome them for the larger cause,” she asked the people.
Meanwhile, the general secretary of DeM said that scores of its activists and well-wishers today participated in pro-freedom programs across Kashmir on the call of joint resistance leadership.
She said that four of its activists were arrested from Ganderbal after they had assembled in a local mosque to participate in the pro-freedom rally.
